Joint meeting for research networks

This week Universal Design Hub, Bevica Foundation, hosted a two-day workshop for our interdisciplinary research networks.

The aim of the research networks is to explore the potential of interdisciplinary research in universal design as a lever for the UN Sustainable Development Goals agenda to leave no one behind. Although the researchers represent a wide variety of subjects, organizations, and research traditions they have a common interest in exploring opportunities for building a more socially sustainable society.

Day one started with Research director Camilla Ryhl setting the stage for the workshop with a welcome to new members and an update on ongoing projects. After this followed a lively discussion and peer review on ongoing research projects in the network. Here after the work in progress on an interdisciplinary anthology continued with presentation and discussion on content and chapters in small groups.

On day two, Thomas Sinkjær, Chairman of the Bevica Foundation, visited to talk to the young researchers. Thomas Sinkjær who is a professor at Aalborg University and Secretary General of the Royal Danish Academy of Science and letters, generously shared his knowledge on funding, carrier planning and being a researcher in 2022.

We finished our workshop with a joint discussion on ideas for new projects and potential new collaborations.

The interdisciplinary research networks will meet again and continue their important work on our next meeting in May.
